Coco Gauff dropped her first set of the tournament so far but still defeated Hailey Baptiste in the third-round of the Australian Open. Baptiste performed strongly in the first set and took the lead, but Gauff was not broken on serve after that, going on to win 3-6 6-0 6-3 after one hour and 50 minutes. She plays Karolina Muchova next. The Czech wasted no time in getting through to the next stage as she thrashed Magda Linette 6-1 6-1 after just an hour and three minutes. Muchova faced just one break point and won 90% of her points on first serve.

Muchova’s variety has never seemed to faze Gauff, one of the best athletes on tour and a player who is content to extend the rallies.
