Coco Gauff vs Elena Rybakina prediction

Coco Gauff was handed a walkover at the Canadian Open as her opponent Belinda Bencic withdrew from the tournament before their quarter-final match took place. The two-time Grand Slam singles champion is yet to drop a set at this event, and she is one match away from a third WTA 1000 final of the campaign. Gauff is still searching for her first title of 2026, but she has won eight of her last nine completed matches.

She faces world number two Elena Rybakina in the last four. Rybakina staged a magnificent recovery from a set and a break down to beat Naomi Osaka. The Kazakh broke in the seventh game of the deciding set and closed it out to win 4-6 7-6 (5) 6-4 after two hours and 33 minutes. Rybakina struck 15 aces on her way to victory.

They have faced each other just once before, at the second-round stage of this event four years ago, with Gauff winning in three sets. Rybakina possesses the bigger serve and more efficient baseline power, but Gauff’s movement and defensive capabilities can force her into playing the additional shot. The American will also be fully rested, while Rybakina was forced to dig deep to get past Osaka.
