Coco Gauff vs Anna Kalinskaya prediction

Anna Kalinskaya saw off the threat of Jelena Ostapenko’s firepower to progress in Dubai.

The Russian hit back to sink the Latvian 2-6 6-1 6-4 and maintain strong form that has seen her win six of her last eight. 

The world number 23 now meets Coco Gauff for just a second time, knowing that the third seed is out of sorts and that she won their only previous encounter at this very tournament two years ago.

Gauff has not looked right all year and followed up a resounding loss to Elina Svitolina at the Australian Open with a shock defeat to Elisabetta Cocciaretto in Doha. 

Coco will surely find her form at some point and it’s a long, long time since the two-time major winner lost three matches in a row. 

With the spirit of a champion she may well find some form here to ensure that doesn’t happen but with the way Anna is playing at the moment a punt on the upset or a more safe offering of it going the distance is a good call.
