Coco Gauff vs Ann Li prediction
Coco Gauff recovered from a slow start to begin her Cincinnati Open campaign with a three set win over Liudmila Samsonova. Gauff was broken in her opening service game and once more later in the first set as she fell behind. However, she held serve for the remainder of the match and recovered strongly to complete a 2-6 6-4 6-1 victory. Gauff advanced to the semi-finals in Toronto last week.
She now faces Ann Li. The American overcame Shaui Zhang in straight sets to set up a meeting with Gauff. Li was never behind in either set as she came through to win 7-5 6-3 after just an hour and 15 minutes. The 26-year-old won 88% of her first serve points and conceded just the one break point.
Gauff leads the head-to-head 3-0 and is yet to drop a set to Li. She previously defeated Li as a 14-year-old at a lower-level event in February 2019. She should have far too much quality in this third-round match, as she aims for a first title of the campaign.
