The Swiss world number 94 shocked Daria Kasatkina 7-6 3-6 6-4 and will now take on third seed Clara Tauson.

The Dane enjoyed a solid if unspectacular run to the third round at the Australian Open and will feel her strong head-to-head with Waltert will provide the platform to make her first quarter-final since Seoul back in September.
