Clara Tauson comes into the first round in Mexico on the back of being knocked out in the second round of the Cincinnati Open by Linda Noskova. The 23-year-old Dane began her hard court season well when she reached the semi-finals in Athens in July.

Renata Zarazua succumbed to a straight sets loss to Yuan Yue in Cincinnati. The Mexican, ranked 71st in the WTA rankings, also began her hard court season reasonably well, too, as she reached the semi-finals in Memphis last month.

These are two relatively in-form players and so an entertaining but long match may be in store for this second round tie in Mexico.
