Clara Tauson vs Lucia Bronzetti prediction

22-year-old Clara Tauson is enjoying something of a breakout year and the Danish star currently sits at number 19 in the world rankings.

She comes into the Canadian Open in reasonable form but she will be hoping to kick on again in the second half of the year after a little lull in recent weeks.

Tauson takes on Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti in the second round and she managed to come back from a set down in the first round to overcome Elizabeth Mandik. She did face 17 break points in that match and she will have to serve much better against Tauson to have any chance.

That was Bronzetti’s first-ever main draw win in the tournament but while she has shown some improvement this year in the bigger events, it is hard to see her troubling the better players on the WTA Tour.

We expect Tauson to hit the ground running and be too good for Bronzetti. Tauson is strong on hard surfaces and she should be well rested to go again and enjoy a positive week.
