Claire Liu vs Anna Bondar prediction

Claire Liu earned her first WTA victory of the season in the first-round as she came from a set down to beat Alexandra Eala. Eala looked to have the game wrapped up in the second as she went 4-2 up but Liu fought back to win the next four games and force a decider. The Filipino again went a break up but Liu recovered to seal a memorable 2-6 6-4 6-4 win.

She now goes up against Anna Bondar. Bondar also came from a break down in the last set to get past Hanyu Guo in round one. She was 3-1 down but kept her composure to break back and earn the win in the third set tiebreak. She won 6-3 3-6 7-6.

Bondar now has five wins from her last six matches, having got through to the final on the ITF circuit in Jinan last week. She is the higher ranked player and will be expected to make it through to the quarter-finals.
