Caty McNally enjoyed her best result of the year on the WTA Tour last week, as she reached the third-round in Montreal. McNally defeated Alycia Parks and Rebecca Sramkova before going out after a loss to Madison Keys, despite taking the first set against the Australian Open champion. McNally will hope to continue her momentum with a deep run in Cincinnati.

She faces Maddison Inglis in the first-round. Inglis came from a set down in both of her qualifying rounds to enter the main draw. The world number 157 had failed to get out of the same stage in Montreal a week earlier. She is without a win on the WTA Tour this season, with her best result being a final in Brisbane on the ITF Tour.

This is their first WTA Tour match between one and other, but they did play in the qualifying stages of the Birmingham Classic three years ago on grass, with McNally coming out on top in three sets. She is in the better form of the two and will be expected to pick up another victory.
