The American had come from a set down to beat Emma Navarro in the first-round, and she is now one match away from a first semi-final of the season.

The match was played over two days, with Tomljanovic recovering from the loss of the opening set to eventually progress. She failed to serve out the match at 5-4, but was able to do so at the second attempt as she won 4-6 6-4 7-5.
