Whilst St. Helens will likely come into this tie as favourites, there’s still plenty of reason to be optimistic if you’re a Castleford Tigers fan. Their only Super League victory so far this season came at home and they did at least stay with Wigan Warriors, although were ultimately outclassed in a 16-26 defeat. The Tigers have also racked up 50 points across those two home fixtures, compared to just 16 points on the road.

St. Helens are on a roll right now, winning their last three under Paul Rowley. This is the Challenge Cup though, a competition notorious for upsets and can easily stunt a side’s momentum as the stakes rise in a knockout format. With that in mind, backing Castleford in front of their fans offers good value and warrants considering.
