Casper Ruud vs Jack Draper prediction
Jack Draper will be bidding for his second Masters 1000 title of 2025 when he locks horns with clay-specialist Casper Ruud in the Madrid Open final.
The British number one’s sensational year just seems to get better and better after he took down Monte Carlo runner-up Lorenzo Musetti 6-3 7-6 in a high-quality last four contest.
Draper’s stellar form puts him at number two in the ATP race and sets up a maiden showdown with two-time French Open runner-up Ruud.
The Norwegian is targeting the biggest title of his career after defeating Francisco Cerundolo 6-4 7-5 in the other semi-final.
Both players have been in fabulous form this week and this is such a tough call. Draper’s raw power off the forehand and hefty serve have been unplayable at times, while the whip and bounce Ruud gets off his own forehand have been the major factor behind his proven prowess on the clay.
Draper is a slight favourite despite the Scandinavian’s quality on the dirt with the faster conditions in the altitude likely to give the Brit a slight edge.
