Casper Ruud vs Felix Auger-Aliassime prediction

Casper Ruud continued his progress in Shanghai after a straight sets win over Learner Tien. The Norwegian conceded just the two break point opportunities and won 89% of his points on first serve, wrapping up a 6-4 7-6 (3) victory after one hour and 42 minutes. Ruud also got past Bu Yunchaokete in his opening match at the event.

He will now face Felix Auger-Aliassime. The world number six required a deciding set for the second match running but still went on to beat Pablo Carreno Busta. Auger-Aliassime broke on two occasions in the deciding set, winning 6-3 4-6 6-1. He has now won back-to-back matches at tour-level for the first time since the Cincinnati Open in August.

He also leads the head-to-head 6-4 and has won their last four meetings, but Ruud has been the more impressive of the two players so far at this event.
