Caroline Dolehide’s time in Montreal was short-lived as she lost to Anna Blinkova 6-4 6-1 in the first-round. The American fared better a week earlier in Washington as she won three matches in a row, including two qualifying stages, to make the second-round. Nevertheless, Dolehide has just one quarter-final appearance all season and that took place in Texas all the way back in early March.
She will face Rebecca Sramkova in round one of Cincinnati. She suffered a disappointing tournament at her home event in Prague, going down to compatriot Tereza Valentova in the second-round. There was no upturn in form last week as she was dumped out of the Canadian Open in the first-round by Caty McNally, losing 6-2 6-2. Her best result on a hard court saw her make the quarter-finals at the Merida Open in late January.
