Carol Lee vs Katie Boulter prediction

Carol Lee was granted a wildcard to compete at the US Open. The American won her first WTA 125k title at the Polish Open in Warsaw, defeating Gabriela Knutson in the final. She also overcame top seed Elsa Jacquemot in the first-round. However, she failed to qualify for the Cincinnati Open after a loss to Polina Kudermetova. Lee also made her WTA Tour main draw debut in Prague, winning her first-round match against Veronika Podrez, before losing to top seed Marie Bouzkova.

She faces British number one Katie Boulter. The 30-year-old ended a five-match losing run in Cincinnati as she defeated Katie Volynets in the first-round, but she was then beaten by Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova. Boulter’s best form was found earlier in the season, as she won the Ostrava Open and advanced to the semi-finals of Queen’s Club.

Boulter has struggled for form for quite some time, and Lee has enough quality to make this a difficult encounter for the Brit.
