Carlos Alcaraz vs Jiri Lehecka prediction
Carlos Alcaraz overcame yet another wobble to return to the final in Tokyo.
The defending champion lost 16 points in a row as he served for the opening set but hit back to see off fellow Spaniard Jaume Munar by a 5-7 6-3 6-1 scoreline.
Top seed, Alcaraz will now meet Jiri Lehecka in a showdown for the title after the Czech reached his second ATP Tour final of the season with a ruthless 6-4 6-2 victory over Valentin Vacherot.
This will be their fifth encounter with Carlitos leading the head-to-head 3-1. The seven-time Grand Slam champion has twice won on grass and also prevailed 6-4 6-2 6-4 when they met at this year’s US Open.
Lehecka’s solitary win did come on an outdoor hardcourt by a 6-3 4-6 6-3 scoreline in Doha last year.
The Czech world number 19 has seriously impressed this week and Alcaraz’s lulls will give him significant hope of producing the upset. We still feel that is still a big task and tough to back as the upset, but there’s certainly scope for plenty of games.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Jiri Lehecka tip: Over 20.5 games
