Carlos Alcaraz vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina prediction
Carlos Alcaraz is all set to play in his first match since his stunning win in the final of the French Open. He came back from two sets to love down, saving three championship points on the way, to defeat Jannik Sinner in what many are already calling one of the greatest matches in the sport’s history. He’s now a five-time Grand Slam champion and begins his grass court season at Queen’s as he looks to defend his Wimbledon crown in a few weeks’ time.
He takes on a fellow Spaniard in Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in round one. His form has tailed off as of late and he suffered a disappointing second-round loss to Jiri Lehecka at Roland Garros, which was his last event up to now.
Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 2-0 with both matches taking place on clay. They met earlier this year, with the world number two beating Davidovich Fokina 7-6 6-4 in the semi-finals of Monte-Carlo. Alcaraz may take some time to adjust to the grass but he has a good record against his opponent and Davidovich Fokina isn’t in strong enough form to really trouble him.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina tip: Carlos Alcaraz to win 2-0
