Number four seed Camilo Ugo Carabelli comes into this one on the back of a straight sets loss to Roman Andres Burruchaga in the first round of the Rio Open last week. The Argentine did reach the quarter-finals of the Argentina Open earlier this month but that tournament is the only one in which he has won a game since the Paris Masters.

Yannick Hanfmann put in a very impressive display the other day as the German dispatched of Dusan Lajovic 6-3, 6-0 in the first round in Santiago. Hanfmannput in a strong showing in Rio, too, succumbing to a hard-fought three-set 33-game defeat to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the round of 16.

This one is expected to be quite a close contest but it could well be that the form gives Hanfmann the edge to cause an upset in the seedings in Chile.
