Camilo Ugo Carabelli vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry prediction

Camilo Ugo Carabelli found some form in two events on clay after Wimbledon. He reached the semi-finals in both Bastad and Umag but was unable to get over the line in either and his wait for an ATP final this year goes on. He transitioned to hard courts but could only win of his three matches in Toronto and Cincinnati. He has a negative record on the surface this season.

There were encouraging signs for Tomas Martin Etchverry as he reached the third-round in Toronto, his best appearance at a Masters tournament this season. That ended a five match losing run for the Argentine, who split up with his coach on the eve of the event. He also notched up another victory in Cincinnati but could go no further than round two after losing to Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Etcheverry leads the ATP head-to-head 1-0 but this will be their first match on a hard court. He defeated Ugo Carabelli in straight sets in Hamburg earlier this year. Etcheverry has picked up some decent results on the surface in the lead up to the final major of the year and deserves to be viewed as the favourite.
