Cameron Norrie vs Sebastian Baez prediction
Cameron Norrie did not have a strong Asian swing, with three defeats from four matches, but he did raise his game in Vienna last week as he beat Andrey Rublev in the first round and then put up a brilliant fight against Matteo Berrettini, going down in three sets after an epic which lasted three hours and 16 minutes. It’s been a brilliant year for Norrie, who moved up nearly 60 places in the rankings and reached another Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon.
Sebastian Baez will be his first-round opponent. The Argentine’s best form came during the clay court season in South America back in February, as he won a title in Rio and reached another final in Santiago. However, following another defeat in the final of the Bucharest Open, Baez’s form completely nosedived, and he has failed to win consecutive matches at an event since. He is currently on a three match losing run.
This should be a comfortable match for Norrie and he’s likely to wrap this up in straight sets.
