Cameron Norrie vs Jakub Mensik prediction
Cameron Norrie ended the clay court season very strongly and will hope to translate that form onto the grass over the next few weeks. He made the semi-finals of the Geneva Open, losing in three sets to Novak Djokovic. He then followed that up with his best ever run at Roland Garros as he made the fourth round, beating former world number one Daniil Medvedev and fellow Brit Jacob Fearnley. He would lose to Djokovic again in the last 16 but Norrie, who made the final here in 2021, will be hopeful of another deep run.
He takes on Jakub Mensik in round one. Mensik was on the end of one of the biggest shocks at the French Open as he lost from two sets to love up against qualifier Henrique Rocha in the second-round. The 19-year-old then played a Challenger event in Prostejov but lost in the first-round to Vitaliy Sachko.
Mensik has played just seven matches on grass in his career and currently holds a 2-5 win-loss record. His serve will always give him free points on the surface but Norrie is currently in fine form and will be a tough first-round opponent for the Miami Open champion. We think this will go the distance.
Cameron Norrie vs Jakub Mensik tip: Over 2.5 sets
