Cameron Norrie vs Hugo Gaston prediction
Cameron Norrie competes in the Auckland Open as he seeks a first title at the event, having finished as the runner-up in both 2019 and 2023. He began his season in Brisbane last week, saving match points on his way to a dramatic comeback win in the first-round against Ugo Humbert. However, the former British number one would go no further at the event after a defeat to Aleksandar Kovacevic in the next stage of the tournament.
Hugo Gaston attempted to qualify in Brisbane, but he lost a close three set match to Matteo Arnaldi in the first stage. However, he was successfully able to do so at this event, beating Isaac Becroft and Vit Kopriva in straight sets respectively. Gaston struggled for much of last season but came alive right at the very end, winning Challenger events in Roanne and Brest back-to-back.
Norrie leads the ATP head-to-head 1-0, having beaten Gaston in straight sets four years ago in Miami. He will be expected to produce a similar type of result here.
