Cameron Norrie vs Daniil Medvedev prediction

Despite entering the main draw as a lucky loser, Cameron Norrie made it through to the second-round with a relatively comfortable 6-3 6-2 win over Christopher O’Connell. Norrie didn’t lose serve throughout the match and now takes on Daniil Medvedev.

Medvedev reached the quarter-finals of Madrid last time out but lost to eventual winner Casper Ruud 6-3 7-5. The Russian struggled to create chances on the Norwegian’s serve throughout the match, only earning two break point opportunities and failing to convert either of them. He was unable to make a breakthrough in his previous event in Monte-Carlo, losing 6-2 6-2 to Alex de Minaur in the fourth-round.

Nevertheless, he is now returning to the venue of his only clay court title of his career so far, having won the event in 2023. 

This will be their first encounter on clay, though Medvedev does lead the head-to-head 3-0, having won all of their matches without dropping a set. Their last match was in the third-round of Miami last year, with the Russian winning 7-5 6-1.

Medvedev should be making it through to the third-round with relative ease.
