Cameron Norrie vs Aleksandar Kovacevic prediction
Cameron Norrie produced a miraculous comeback to make it through to the round-of-16 in Brisbane. The Brit made a terrible start and went behind early, with the second set going to a tiebreak. He looked down and out when his opponent Ugo Humbert had three match points, but Norrie incredibly reeled off five points in a row to level the match. A topsy-turvy decider saw Norrie’s early break cancelled out, but he still went on to win 1-6 7-6 (6) 7-5 after two hours and 35 minutes.
Aleksandar Kovacevic will be his next opponent after the American wrapped up a comfortable win over Nick Kyrgios. The former Wimbledon finalist was making his competitive return in singles after 10 months out, but he was no match for Kovacevic who won 6-3 6-4 after just 85 minutes.
Kovacevic leads the head-to-head after coming from a set down to beat Norrie two years ago in Los Cabos. However, Norrie will come into this as the favourite and will be expected to grind his way to victory.
