Brisbane Broncos vs Parramatta Eels prediction

Likely nursing a hangover after their defeat in the World Club Challenge final, reigning champions Brisbane Broncos laid a giant egg against an admittedly strong Penrith Panthers to begin the new NRL season. The Panthers, who Brisbane dethroned as champions last season got their revenge in some style, dominating the Broncos and winning by 26 points to nil.

Michael Maguire will no doubt have gotten stuck into his squad following such a poor display and a hurting home side are expected to come out all guns blazing against an inferior Parramatta Eels side on paper. The visitors shipped 52 points in a crushing defeat by Melbourne Storm, scoring just four points themselves. Brisbane are stronger across all areas of the field and with motivation to put recent results right, will be expected to triumph by at least a double-figure points margin.
