Brandon Nakashima will aim to crack the Ugo Humbert code in Tokyo.

The American trails 3-0 in the head-to-head, including a 6-3 6-2 defeat in this tournament two years ago.

Nakashima has been in splendid form across the North American swing and is now inside the top 20.

That makes him a different proposition to when they last met and this will only be Humbert’s sixth match since losing in the final in Eastbourne in June.
