Brandon Nakashima vs Patrick Kypson prediction
Brandon Nakashima advanced to the next round of the Mexican Open after a straight-forward win over Elias Ymer. Nakashima gave up just the one break point as he won 6-3 6-4 after one hour and 19 minutes. He has not picked up too many wins in recent weeks, though he did start the season with a run to the final of the Brisbane International.
He now faces Patrick Kypson, after he pulled off one of the shocks of the year so far by beating world number six Alex de Minaur. Kypson dominated the second seed in the opening set, though De Minaur would level the match up in the second after winning the tiebreak. The two-time winner then broke for the first time in the decider and served for the match. However, Kypson would break back and edged in front in the second breaker of the match to win 6-1 6-7 (4) 7-6 (4) after two hours and 39 minutes.
Nakashima is still the favourite, and should be able to absorb the qualifier's pace on his groundstrokes, but he will need to return well against Kypson, who only conceded one break point against De Minaur.
