Brandon Nakashima vs Jan-Lennard Struff prediction

Brandon Nakashima defeated Jack Pinnington Jones in straight sets to book his place in round two of Wimbledon. The American, who progressed to the semi-finals of Queen’s Club, won 87% of his points on first serve as he clinched a 6-3 7-6 (5) 7-5 win.

He will now play Jan-Lennard Struff. He held off a fightback from Sebastian Baez to win in five sets. The German looked on course for a comfortable win, but Baez fought back and ended up forcing a decider. Nevertheless, Struff broke late on to win 6-1 7-6 (4) 4-6 2-6 7-5.

Nakahima will look to neutralise Struff’s serve with his excellent return and also extend the rallies to force errors from the German. However, Struff is still a threat with his aggressive first-strike tennis, and he has the ability to go the distance. Nakashima is the favourite to progress, but it is unlikely to be entirely straight-forward.
