Brandon Nakashima vs Elias Ymer prediction
Brandon Nakashima has not been able to make the same breakthrough since getting through to the final of the Brisbane International in his first event of the year. Nakashima impressed at that tournament, reaching his first final since 2022 without the drop of a set before a defeat to former world number one Daniil Medvedev. However, the American would crash out in the first-round of the Australian Open and followed that up with second-round losses in Dallas and Delray Beach.
He takes on qualifier Elias Ymer in the first-round of this event. The Swede qualified for the Australian Open last month, where he lost to Alexander Shevchenko in round one. Ymer has won six of his 10 matches so far this season but is yet to pick up a main draw win on the ATP Tour.
Nakashima will look to get back on track with a more positive showing this week in Acapulco and his all-round game is likely to be enough to defeat Ymer in comfortable fashion.
