Botic van de Zandschulp come into this one on the back of a decent showing at the Montreal Open earlier this month, headlined by a straight sets victory over Daniil Medvedev, as he reached the round of 16 before losing to Jakub Mensik.
Tallon Griekspoor also made it to the round of 16 before a straight sets loss to Daniel Merida. Griekspoor had previously won just one ATP match, against Van De Zandschulp, since the Bordeaux Challenger event back in mid-May.
