Borna Coric vs Darwin Blanch prediction

Borna Coric is yet to pick up a victory since his return from injury. The Croatian was out of action for two months, making his return at the Canadian Open but losing to Matteo Gigante in the first-round despite taking the first set. He then returned to the scene of his greatest triumph, Cincinnati, but the 2022 champion was again knocked out in round one as Emilio Nava defeated him in straight sets.

Darwin Blanch enters the draw as a qualifier after wins over Tristan Boyer and Valentin Royer. The 17-year-old American has a couple of titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour, while he’s also competed in several Challenger events this season. He is currently ranked 404 in the world and has already earned a wildcard at the US Open after winning the USTA Boys’ National Championships.

Despite his talent, Blanch is still prone to leaking errors on either side and his movement needs improvement. The experienced Coric should have enough to win this first-round match.
