Bernard Tomic vs Corentin Moutet prediction
Bernard Tomic will compete in the main draw of just his second ATP Tour event this season after making it through qualifying in Almaty. The 32-year-old, who was once ranked 17 in the world and reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon at just 19, is now ranked 168 and has made two finals on the Challenger Tour in 2025. He did show some promise in Asia, making the quarter-finals of two Challengers in Jingshan and Jinan.
Corentin Moutet will hope for some better performances in Almaty as his Asian swing fizzled out. Despite not being at his best, he did get through to the semi-finals in Hangzhou but was comfortably beaten by Valentin Royer. He pushed world number three Alexander Zverev to three sets in Beijing but still lost in round two, before being on the end of a defeat to teenager Learner Tien at the same stage in Shanghai.
These two are both temperamental characters, but Moutet is ranked a lot higher and has the quality to get through in straight sets.
