Benjamin Bonzi vs Valentin Royer prediction

Benjamin Bonzi defeated Reilly Opelka for the second time in succession to make it through at the European Open. Bonzi had already defeated the American less than two weeks ago in Shanghai and did so again here, not even conceding a break point as he won 6-4 6-4. He won 89% of his first serve points.

He will now face fellow Frenchman Valentin Royer. Royer also breezed through his first-round match as he comfortably beat 2024 finalist Sebastian Baez in straight sets. Royer created 11 break point opportunities as he won 6-2 6-3 after an hour and 14 minutes. He only made the main draw as a lucky loser, but Royer has been on an upwards trajectory for quite some time, having reached his first ATP Tour final in Hangzhou last month.

Both players will be confident after fine performances in the previous round. Bonzi may be the higher ranked player, but Bonzi has momentum on his side after his displays over the past month.
