Ben Shelton vs Jaime Faria prediction

Ben Shelton won his fourth title of the season and defended his Canadian Open crown after beating Brandon Nakashima in the final. The 23-year-old did not drop a set across the whole event and produced his best level towards the end of the tournament as he also cruised past Jakub Mensik and Learner Tien. This was Shelton’s second Masters 1000 title, making him only the third player born in the 2000s, after Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, to win multiple events at this level.

He now hopes to continue the winning run in Cincinnati, and he begins his campaign against Jaime Faria. The Portuguese, who had to qualify for the event, defeated Jenson Brooksby in straight sets. Faria saved five out of six break points as he won 6-3 6-2. 

The faster surface should make Shelton’s serve even more effective, and he will be full of confidence after such a dominant run to the title. He is the commanding favourite to come through this one.
