Ben Shelton vs Felix Auger-Aliassime prediction

Ben Shelton made his ATP Finals debut against Alexander Zverev, but it did not go as planned, with the American losing in straight sets. He struggled in the first set but was on the verge of levelling the match up at 6-3 in the second set tiebreak. However, Zverev would win the next five points to seal a 6-3 7-6 (6) victory.

He goes up against Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian also got off to a losing start in Turin as he was defeated by Jannik Sinner. Sinner had beaten Auger-Aliassime just over a week ago in the Paris Masters final and edged a tight first set before dominating the second to win 7-5 6-1. Auger-Aliassime seemed to be struggling with a calf problem in the second set and was treated by the trainer on two occasions.

Auger-Aliassime leads the head-to-head 1-0 after thrashing Shelton at last year’s French Open. He’s the player in better form too, having made the final in Paris and won the European Open last month. However, it is worth considering the impact his injury will have on how he performs here. If Shelton can extend the points and serve well, he could have enough to beat his ailing opponent.
