Belinda Bencic vs Linda Noskova prediction
Belinda Bencic reached the final of the Pan Pacific Open after getting past Sofia Kenin in the last four. Kenin was aiming for back-to-back finals in Tokyo but went behind in the first set as Bencic edged a tight tiebreak. The American responded with two breaks in the second as she forced a decider. However, Bencic would control the third, not even facing a break point, to seal a 7-6 3-6 6-2 win after two hours and 15 minutes.
Linda Noskova got through to her third final of the season after her opponent Elena Rybakina withdrew from the tournament citing a back issue. Rybakina had qualified for the WTA Finals after making the semi-finals. The 20-year-old has seen two of her three matches so far affected by injury, as her quarter-final opponent Anna Kalinskaya had to retire midway through their match.
Noskova has spent over four hours less time on court in comparison to Bencic, which could give her the edge in terms of fitness, thought it could also be argued that she is undercooked ahead of the final, with the Swiss having got through back-to-back three set matches. Despite her best season on tour, Noskova has failed to clinch a title after two losses in finals. She will be determined to cap off the year with an event win and has the game to do it against Bencic.
