Beibit Zhukayev vs Alex Michelsen prediction
Beibit Zhukayev was handed a wildcard for his home tournament after a poor run in recent months. He failed to qualify for the US Open back in August, and for other events in Hangzhou and Shanghai on the ATP Tour. His performances on the Challenger Tour have not been much better, as he lost in the first-round of his last two events. His highlight of the season was a run to the semi-finals in Morelia all the way back in March, but the Kazakhstani is ranked outside the top 230 and has a negative win-loss record in 2025.
Alex Michelsen may be ranked almost 200 places higher, but he is also struggling when it comes to his form. He is without a win in his last five matches, and the American has just not kicked on since making his first Masters quarter-final in Toronto two months ago. There have still been some highlights, with Michelsen winning the Challenger in Estoril, along with two semi-finals on the ATP Tour, but he needs a few results to make sure his season does not fizzle out completely.
Michelsen isn’t performing to the required standard right now, but Zhukayev is unlikely to pose too many problems in the first-round.
