This clash between Maccabi and Zalgiris is one of the most intriguing of round eight in the EuroLeague as the two teams have a great rivalry in this competition. Maccabi have not enjoyed the best of starts to this year’s campaign but their record of 2-5 could have looked much different had it not been for three narrow defeats by three points or less. They will have to be at their best against this Zalgiris side who have won their last four meetings. The Lithuanian side slipped to just their second loss of the season so far against Real Madrid last week but they continue to play at a high level and will be determined to bounce back here. Their all-round game is superior to that of Maccabi’s and assuming they remain focused, they should return to winning ways in Israel.
