Barbora Krejcikova vs Elina Svitolina prediction
Barbora Krejcikova overcame some slight wobbles to beat Alycia Parks and book her place into the second-round of the Cincinnati Open. The two time major winner raced into a 5-0 lead in the first set but was then broken on two successive occasions, eventually clinching it 6-4. She then went a break up in the second but suffered another collapse as she lost six of the next seven service games, with the match going to a decider. Krejcikova raised her game in the third and cut out the errors to win 6-4 4-6 6-0.
She will not be allowed to have those same lapses against Elina Svitolina in the next round. Svitolina was given a bye in the first-round as the 10th seed. The Ukrainian performed well in Montreal last time out as she made the quarter-finals, though was uncompetitive in her last eight match against Naomi Osaka as she lost 6-2 6-2.
This is their first match on a hard court but Krejcikova leads the head-to-head after two wins on clay. Svitolina is the more consistent player of the two right now and should be able to notch her first victory against the Czech.
