Ashlyn Krueger vs Iga Swiatek prediction
Ashlyn Krueger came from a set down to beat Lanlana Tararudee in the second-round of the Wuhan Open. The American broke to go 2-1 up in the first set, but Tararudee would reel off five games in a row to take the lead. However, Krueger then won 12 of the next 14 games to claim a 2-6 6-1 6-1 victory. She only entered the main draw of the tournament as a lucky loser.
Krueger now faces six-time major champion Iga Swiatek. The Pole comfortably got past Magdalena Frech in the previous stage. Swiatek did go 2-0 down at the start of the first set but then reeled off 10 games in a row as she cruised to a 6-2 6-1 victory after an hour and 43 minutes. Swiatek is aiming for a second WTA 1000 title of the campaign, following the Canadian Open. Furthermore, she still retains an outside chance of qualifying for the WTA Finals next month.
Swiatek is the clear favourite to come through with the win and advance to the quarter-finals.
