Aryna Sabalenka vs Marketa Vondrousova prediction

Aryna Sabalenka pulled off a Houdini act to escape Elena Rybakina and surge into her eighth semi-final of the year.

The Belarusian was trailing 6-2 in the final-set tie-break but came back to prevail 7-6 3-6 7-6.

The world number one will now face Marketa Vondrousova after the former Wimbledon champion outclassed Ons Jabeur 6-4 6-1.

This will be their eighth meeting with Sabalenka leading 4-3 overall, although the Czech did triumph in their most recent encounter on clay in Stuttgart last year.

Sabalenka was the winner in their only other clash on grass, but the nature of the top seed’s struggles against Rybakina will give Vondrousova reason to be optimistic.

That said, we expect the Belarusian to seal the deal here, but feel it may well go the distance.
