Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina prediction
Aryna Sabalenka booked her place in the last eight of the Cincinnati Open after a straight sets win over Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The world number one had only just squeezed through her third-round match against Emma Raducanu but this was a far more comfortable outing. She made a fast start and took the first set with the loss of just one game. Sabalenka earned another early break in the second, though Bouzas Maneiro responded with a break of her own to draw level at 4-4. Sabalenka broke again in the 11th service game of the set and went on to win 6-1 7-5.
Elena Rybakina will be her opponent as she came from a set down to beat Madison Keys. The 2022 Wimbledon champion was up a break in every set but relinquished her control in the first as Keys edged ahead after a tiebreak. Rybakina came back to win 6-7 6-4 6-2 and earn her first win against an opponent in the top 10 since the Abu Dhabi Open back in February.
Sabalenka leads the head-to-head 7-4 but it’s only 4-3 in her favour on outdoor hard court. Rybakina could be her toughest test yet, but the Belarussian is now unbeaten in eight matches at this tournament and will be viewed as the favourite to make it through.
