Aryna Sabalenka vs Camila Osorio prediction

Two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka is attempting to become the first woman since Serena Williams to win three in a row at the US Open. The world number one’s form has dipped since she completed the Sunshine Double in Miami, and a return to hard courts has failed to bring about an improvement in her results. She suffered a round-of-16 loss at the Canadian Open to Ekaterina Alexandrova and was then beaten by Sara Bejlek at the same stage in Cincinnati.

Her first-round opponent is Camila Osorio. The Colombian’s losing run was extended to three matches last time out, as she was heavily beaten by Ann Li in the first-round of the Monterrey Open. 

Despite her recent struggles, Sabalenka still has a commanding 27-3 win-loss record on hard courts this season. There are tougher tasks ahead for the four-time Grand Slam champion, but she will be expected to begin her campaign with a routine victory.
