World number one Aryna Sabalenka continued her progress in Melbourne as she comfortably got past Zhouxuan Bai in straight sets to make the third-round. Sabalenka won the first five games of the match as she dominated from the off, winning 6-3 6-1 after just an hour and 12 minutes. The four-time Grand Slam champion is undefeated in her seven matches this season.
She takes on Anastasia Potapova next. The Russian got past Emma Raducanu to make the third-round for the first time in five years. Raducanu served for the first set at 5-4, but Potapova broke back and took the set on a tiebreak. She raced ahead at the start of the second to win 7-6 (3) 6-2 after an hour and 32 minutes.
Sabalenka leads the head-to-head 2-0 and has never dropped a set against Potapova. The world number one will be the overwhelming favourite to win and advance to the round-of-16.
