Arthur Rinderknech vs Valentin Vacherot prediction
Arthur Rinderknech defeated Fabian Marozsan in two close sets to advance at the Paris Masters. Marozsan went 5-3 up in the first set and was up set point, but the Frenchman broke back to win it on a tiebreak. The match went on serve in the second set, but Rinderknech again found his rhythm in the breaker to win 7-6 (5) 7-6 (4). That was his first match on tour since the final of the Shanghai Masters, where he lost to his cousin Valentin Vacherot.
Quite remarkably, the two will face each other once again as Vacherot produced an incredible performance in round one, thrashing Jiri Lehecka. The Monegasque did not even face a break point as he wrapped up a 6-1 6-3 win after just 54 minutes.
Their match in Shanghai saw Vacherot come from a set down to beat Rinderknech 4-6 6-3 6-3 to become the lowest ranked player to ever win a Masters title. The Frenchman is likely to be in better shape physically for this one, but Vacherot’s level was thoroughly impressive against Lehecka. This is all set to be an engrossing encounter in front of a passionate French crowd.
