Arthur Rinderknech vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction
Arthur Rinderknech progressed to the quarter-finals in Gstaad with a battling win over Clement Tabur. The Frenchman dropped the first set after losing a close tiebreak, but he responded to win 6-7 (9) 7-6 (5) 7-5. He advanced to round three of Wimbledon earlier this month, losing to Novak Djokovic in four sets.
He now plays former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek also won in three sets, beating Jerome Kym. Tsitsipas edged ahead in the final set tiebreak to win 6-4 6-7 (2) 7-6 (5). He will now be aiming for his first semi-final of the campaign.
Tsitsipas leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Rinderknech in straight sets at the Rotterdam Open last year, but this will be their first meeting on a clay court. The two-time Grand Slam finalist seems to have rediscovered his confidence this week, and he will be tough to stop if he continues to dictate with his forehand.
