Arthur Rinderknech vs Hamad Medjedovic prediction

Arthur Rinderknech last competed at the China Open. He lost to David Goffin in qualifying but still entered the tournament as a lucky loser, where he played Goffin again and beat him in the first-round to book a meeting with Alex de Minaur. He performed well and only lost the match in a three set tiebreak. It’s been a strong year from the Frenchman, as he also made the round-of-16 at the US Open last month, his best performance at a major.

Hamad Medjedovic is his opponent in the first-round. Despite strong form heading into the US Open, which included a quarter-final appearance in Winston-Salem, the Serb’s form has dropped off with two defeats from his last three matches. He lost in the first-round of the US Open to Daniel Altmaier and his Asian swing did not kick off in the best way as he lost to Holger Rune in round one, despite applying pressure in the first set.

However, Medjedovic leads the head-to-head after a straight sets win less than six weeks ago at the Winston-Salem Open in the first-round. This is likely to be a close one but Medjedovic’s all round game could give him the edge once more.
