Arthur Gea vs Ugo Humbert prediction

Arthur Gea continued his breakthrough season with a win over Jaime Faria in the first-round of the Shanghai Masters. Gea dropped the first set on a tiebreak but dominated the rest of the encounter to win 6-7 (3) 6-1 6-2 after two hours and five minutes. He was not broken on serve across the entirety of the match. Gea is up to a career high of 56 in the world, and won his first tour-level title at the Los Cabos Open.

He plays compatriot Ugo Humbert next. Humbert last competed at the Japan Open, winning his opening match against Brandon Nakashima in straight sets before falling to a loss against Jiri Lehecka. 

Humbert has advanced to two finals in 2026, but his recent form is concerning, with six defeats from his last eight matches. He remains a competitive player on this surface, but Gea’s progress cannot be overlooked, and he has enough quality to cause his opponent problems.
