Arthur Gea vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina prediction

Arthur Gea continued his best ever run at a Masters event after beating Jakub Mensik in straight sets to advance to the quarter-finals in Shanghai. The Frenchman, who was ranked outside of the world’s top 200 before the start of this season, is now set to move into the top 40 after his event. Gea only conceded two break points on serve, winning 7-6 (4) 6-4. He also defeated US Open finalist Ben Shelton in the third-round.

His next opponent is Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He recovered from a slow start to overcome Hubert Hurkacz for the second time in the space of a month. This was a rematch of the Chengdu Open final at the end of September, with Davidovich Fokina winning 1-6 6-3 7-6 (6).

The Spaniard is the favourite to advance to the next round, but Gea cannot be ruled out after a remarkable run and impressive breakout season overall.
