Arthur Fils advanced to his first Masters 1000 final after beating Flavio Cobolli in straight sets. The Frenchman needed just 68 minutes to wrap up a 6-3 6-4 victory. Fils won 82% of his first serve points as he continued his unbeaten record against Cobolli. He is also now just the second player born in 2004 or later to reach a Masters final on the ATP Tour, after Jakub Mensik at the 2025 Miami Open.

He will now face Frances Tiafoe, as the American reached his second Cincinnati Open final after a seventh win in his career over Brandon Nakashima. Tiafoe was forced to dig deep in the first set as he saved three set points in the 10th game, before breaking his opponent in the very next game and serving it out to take the lead. He maintained his level in the second to win 7-5 6-3.

Fils leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a three set win over Tiafoe in Miami last year. This should be an exciting encounter between two of the great entertainers on tour, with a maiden Masters title at stake. Fils has barely been troubled in his last two matches, and this could be the moment for the 22-year-old to break new ground in his career.
